A well crafted estate plan must incorporate several considerations. Protection of assets is one of the most important. A plan should minimize or eliminate estate taxes and income taxes on one's estate. Additionally, consideration should be given the cost of a nursing home stay. Both the Tax Law and the Medicaid Law are complex statutes, which must be considered when planning or egregious consequences can result. Equally important are the desires and wishes of the client. The greatest tax plan in the world is no good if the client's property doesn't go where he or she wants.
Feel free to discuss these complex issues with Mr. Ceresia, for there is no charge for the initial consultation. And if your disability prevents you from going to Mr. Ceresia's office, he will come to you. Please remember, it is never too late to plan, but planning early generally allows for the best results.
